Walking, Shopping & Eating

Woke up in Pittsburgh this morning and decided to go shopping for food.  Arun performed a quick Google search to find a grocery store in the area.  We decided to walk to the first location, The Shadyside Market.  After Arun and I walked a mile to the “grocery store” we were let down with what the Shadyside Market had to offer.  The Shadyside Market was indeed, shady.

We kept walking for another half mile finally arriving at a Market District/Giant Eagle.  Fruit, veggies, bread, hummus, yogurt…SUCCESS!  As an added bonus Arun made a friend with a market employee (“the swiss cheese guy”) who suggested that Arun read Thomas Friedman’s “The World is Flat.”   The swiss cheese guy then accompanied us to the hummus section, before we said our good byes and good lucks.

Checked out of Market District/Giant Eagle, walked 1.5 miles back to where we were staying, ate brunch, packed the van, returned a defunct Pep Boys power inverter, filled up the tank and drove to Akron, Ohio.

More later…
