We had a few technical problems in Toledo, as Ron delineated for you prior. Still, we had a good time at Mickey Finn’s and are on our way to Cincinnati to play with Fairmount Girls at Northside Tavern.
Day of Damage
The good news is that the band collectively agrees that we performed a very solid set at Mickey Finn’s in Toledo last night (best performance of the tour to this point). The sound was perfect, the vibe was right and our execution of the set was dead on. The audience was very receptive to what we offered as well. In addition to the performance, Rolling Rock was $1.00 and a grilled cheese...
We stopped by a little coffee shop in Bowling Green before our in-studio set at WBGU. After spilling some coffee on the floor and being instructed by the proprietor to “blot” the spillage clean, we found some time to relax and shoot this update for you. Enjoy!
Bowling Green and Toledo!
Hey boys and girls, We’re about to load the van and head off to Bowling Green to do an in-studio at WBGU. You can tune-in online here. We’ll play around 2:45 and hope you’re listening in. If not, we’ll likely get a recording of the show, so we’ll get you the music if we can. We’ll be at Mickey Finn’s tonight for our Toledo gig. Hope to see you there! ...

I think we made long-term friends with them today, and we’re super excited about having them come out to brooklyn to share their music with more people. This tour is off to a terrific start. Everyone who came out was...
Here’s a quick update we did in-between our shows in Pittsburgh and Akron, OH. Overall, we’re having a terrifici time, minus a few technical van complications! More coming soon, promise!
Walking, Shopping & Eating
Woke up in Pittsburgh this morning and decided to go shopping for food. Arun performed a quick Google search to find a grocery store in the area. We decided to walk to the first location, The Shadyside Market. After Arun and I walked a mile to the “grocery store” we were let down with what the Shadyside Market had to offer. The Shadyside Market was indeed, shady. We kept walking...
the kindness of strangers.
hey kids, much love to the 100+ of you (a record for club cafe on a wednesday night) that came out in pittsburgh to check out a band from brooklyn that had never played a show before. we appreciate it and hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. visiting pittsburgh and having so many strangers (now friends) who made us feel like home is something we all miss about living in the midwest. we...

individualism is for scabs.
i read that in a random book sitting on the coffee table of a small burger joint in prospect heights. i don’t know that it directly correlates to city breathing, but having just sat in a van with ron and marwan for the last 7 hours talking about music, food, the increasing amount of chains in the midwest and how glorious it is to escape the urban jungle of new york city, it seems...
